Why is sleeping in the product considered risky for newborns?Updated 2 years ago

The newborn lounger nest is derived from a family of products called infant loungers. Due to the relative ease in which they can relax infant children, loungers have also historically been used as sleep products. However, recent research has concluded that loungers are inappropriate for sleep due to their association with Sleeping Infant Death Syndrome, or SIDS.

As such, that the newborn lounger nest is not a sleep product cannot be overstated.

While it may be tempting to allow a relaxing and resting newborn to remain in the product as they fall sleep, doing so opens your child to the risks of increased complications, one of which is SIDS. Thus, it remains important to remember that the newborn lounger nest is designed for momentary rest and/or active stimulation in a safe space, and that if your newborn falls asleep in the product, immediately remove them and place them in a sleep safe space. Usage of the product outside of these circumstances exposes your child to unnecessary risk.
